Sponsorship of MGM Email Bulletins

The MGM Email Bulletin goes to 2,200 contacts on our MGM Database; these are curators, exhibition, marketing and education officers and contacts in local authorities and agencies. These go out monthly from late August and twice a month from March 2008. August to January (6 editions) £1,200; February to June (7 editions) £1,400 (includes acknowledgment at the end of each bulletin with click through web address). Sponsorship of MGM News – printed version
Four editions of MGM2007 News will be printed and sent to 3,500 museum and gallery contacts (plus ad hoc mailings to another 400 contacts) across the UK in September 07, January 08, March 08, and June 08. The MGM database is unique to the Campaign for Museums and is updated each year.

Sponsorship which includes an acknowledgment box, logo and web address in the bulletin costs £1,200 (four editions). Inserts in each edition cost £400 tbc according to weight and size. The bulletin is A5.

Corporate Sponsorship – The Campaign for Museums

This is open to professional companies in the museum and gallery sector and supports the Campaign for Museums generally. The sponsorship at £500 per annum provides the opportunity to get involved with the Campaign for Museums as follows: listing on the MGM website as partner; two guests at the MGM VIP Launch and an invitation to The Campaign for Museums annual lunch – a select gathering of leaders in the sector. The sponsorship is by invitation.

Sponsorship of MGM Debates

There will be several public debates during Museums and Galleries Month at the National Portrait Gallery and V&A (tbc). Subjects and speakers will be announced in early 2008. The debates are aimed at an informed audience interested in museum and gallery issues and conclude with a glass of wine.

The sponsor will be acknowledged in the publicity leading up the debates and on the programme. We are offering this as a package of £1,800 towards the costs of three debates.

Sponsorship of the Museums and Galleries Month VIP launch

This will take place in a central location in London; the guest list includes ministers, MPs, civil servants and leaders in the museum and gallery sector.

The sponsor will be invited to bring 2-4 guests to the event and will be acknowledged on the printed invitations and in the programme, as well as in our reports of the event and press material. The sponsorship for this is £3,500.

Overall sponsorship of Museums and Galleries Month

This sponsorship is public-facing and appropriate for someone wishing to reach museum and gallery visitors. It includes presence on the 24 Hour Museum website during May, acknowledgment in print (leaflets and posters) and press releases. More information is available on request. The sponsorship fee for this is by negotiation.

Museum of Me…

A new online initiative for Museums and Galleries Month. The public will be invited to create their own museum online (24 Hour Museum and www.mgm.org.uk) and join hundreds (perhaps thousands of others) including MGM celebrities. This will be one of the lead stories in the MGM media campaign. More details are available on request – see contact below.

MGM Celebrity trails….

Help us create podcasts for the new celebrity trails – to be featured online at www.24hourmuseum.org.uk (10million visits a year). This is another major plank in our media campaign for MGM 2008. More details on request.

Looking Beyond 2009: Plans for the Cultural Olympiad

As our three year plan for a Bigger and Better Museums and Galleries Month moves into its final year, we are already looking ahead to see how we should use the experience gained and the awareness raised to best effect. London 2012 and the Cultural Olympiad present us with the opportunity to create a new style MGM from 2009 onwards.

The Great Museum Fest (working title); a festival of Britain’s museums and galleries will take place in May from 2009 until 2012. Each year will have a separate theme, exploring Britishness, leading to May 2012 when museums and galleries “Welcome the World”.

The Festival will start on the first May Bank Holiday Weekend and continue through till 18th May or the Saturday nearest to it, designated Nuit des Musees by the Council of Europe and coordinate by the French Government. We are now seeking support and will be developing the branding and contents during Autumn 2007.
