Legal and Administrative Information

The Charity is registered for charitable purposes with the Charity Commissioners, registration number 1070649 and is a registered company limited by guarantee no. 3567683.

The governing instrument is the Company’s Memorandum and Articles of Association dated 1 May 1998.

The Trust’s charitable objects are:

To promote for the benefit of the public, museums, galleries and collections in all their forms throughout the UK as a means of educating the public and likewise to promote and develop improved methods of increasing public visits, broadening public support and raising the profile of museums and galleries generally throughout the UK.

Share Capital and the Liability of the Members

The Company is limited by guarantee and has no share capital.

The liability of the members is limited by guarantee. In the event of the Company being wound up during the period of membership or within the year following, members are required to contribute an amount not exceeding £1 towards the cost of dissolution and the liabilities incurred by the Charity. The Trustees are the only members.

Organisation
The overall responsibility for the Charity is vested in the Board of Trustees. The day to day management of the Charity is delegated to Ylva French & Co. Ltd. as fund-raisers and administrators of the charity..
